Find The Perfect Diet: 10 Meals Plans That Work!

Mediterranean Diet

The Mediterranean diet is rooted in culinary philosophy borrowed from coastal countries like France, Spain, North Africa and Greece. With their mild, rainy winters and hot, dry summers, these countries have developed diets that are heavy on fish, seafood, legumes, fruits, potatoes and whole grains. Supplementing the bulk of the diet are small amounts of dairy, eggs and poultry and very, very rarely, red meat.

On the do not eat list are a lot of the usual suspects: transfats, refined oils and grains are on the out so goodbye margarine, canola oil and white bread. Basically, anything that looks like it’s been processed is squarely in the no-fly zone; hot dogs, sausages, anything that says diet or low fat are all processed and usually contain some nasty ingredients so don’t eat or drink it. Aside from these basic rules, there’s no right or wrong way to enjoy the Mediterranean diet.

Oh ya, one more thing…. this diet calls for drinking a glass of red wine every now and then…. so ya, that’s pretty awesome.
