Stretch Your Whole Body
Maybe one of the more overlooked elements of getting flexible is making sure to take care of your whole body. Often times, we wait until we’re injured and then only stretch that one area. It’s easy to overlook how a stiff neck is caused by upper back tightness; or how lower back pain is often linked to a tight groin.
A great way to get boost your overall flexibility is to work on stretching your joints for improved range of motion. Often, an injured joint won’t be able to fully extend or retract; reducing range of motion and causing discomfort. Physical therapists will sometimes use a goniometer to gather information on which joints are lacking flexibility.
