Understanding Lymphatic Cancer: 10 Common Symptoms of Lymphoma
6. Itching
Lymphoma that targets the skin will usually produce a feeling of itching. The most commonly held belief is that as your body releases chemicals called cytokines to fight cancer, they end up irritating your nerve endings.
Itching is a symptom found most commonly in Hodgkin’s lymphoma; with roughly two-thirds of all patients reporting cases of hands, feet or sometimes the entire body being racked with itchiness. Although the majority of the time the itching will not include a rash; a small percentage of lymphomas will induce rashing as well.
