Incontinence

childbirth incontinence

Incontinence is a condition which is twice as common in women as it is in men, largely in part due to pregnancy and childbirth. Some women find for several months after postpartum they still don’t have full urinary and stool control. Sneezing, coughing or jogging can cause women to pass gas or urinate in small amounts. Higher risk is attributed to smoking, obesity, and women who’ve had more than one child.

The best way to get control of this situation is through exercise. Women who are experiencing incontinence should perform pelvic muscle strengthening and bladder control techniques. If the problem persists or worsens, an examination by a doctor should be scheduled.
