Yeast Infections: Natural Prevention and Remedies
Garlic
Garlic is well known to be a killer of yeast. In baking, garlic is only ever added to bread after it has risen or…well… the yeast dies and the bread won’t rise.
The same principle applies to yeast infections. The trick is catching it early on, preferably on the first day when there is generally just a slight itching that comes and goes. Take a clove of garlic and remove the peel, making sure to leave the clove intact. At bedtime, insert the clove into the vagina and leave it in overnight. Remove and dispose of the clove in the morning. There’s almost always a water discharge from the vagina caused by the clove of garlic. Continue this treatment for a few days or until the infection clears up.
In more advanced cases of yeast infection, this method can still be used but it might be best to combine it with other treatments as well. Adding tiny slices to the clove of garlic increases its potency and should be considered for more severe infections.
