Yeast Infections: Natural Prevention and Remedies

Boric acid

Candida Albicans is by far the most common cause of yeast infections but there are other, hard to deal with forms of yeast as well. Recurring yeast infections can become resistant to regular forms of treatment such as antifungal and vaginal suppositories. It could be that a different, tougher type of yeast has caused the infection. Candida glabrata accounts for about five percent of diagnosed yeast infections but requires a different approach to remedy.

Enter boric acid. While testing hasn’t been extensive, early results look promising. Boric acid has shown be a successful treatment for recurring yeast infections 70 percent of the time. For yeast infections that just won’t go away or has been classified as non-albincan, it might be time for a new approach. Buy some empty capsules and fill them with about 300 to 600 milligrams of boric acid. Take one a day for 14 days as a vaginal suppository. Do not eat them. Obviously, you’ll want to talk to your doctor first but this method shows real promise. Do not use boric acid if pregnant.
