Morning Stiffness

Getting out of bed in the morning can be a difficult and painful process for those living with fibromyalgia. For many, it is the most painful part of the day. Complications with getting a good nights sleep reduce the bodies ability to repair and recharge. This is because people suffering from FM also have to contend with a condition known as non-restorative sleep. Waking from a full eight hours of sleep still feeling unrested is commonplace.
Morning stiffness can be remedied in a few ways. A morning soak in a warm bath can do wonders for loosening up the body. Addiction to alcohol or narcotics cause symptoms of fibromyalgia to worsen. Avoid booze and nicotine to help promote staying relaxed. Getting on a rigid sleep cycle, possibly with the help of melatonin pills, will promote better sleep and faster recovery.
