Are You At Risk Of Diabetes? 10 Important Symptoms To Watch For

Your Vision Becomes Blurred

diabetes

Changing amounts of fluid in your body and the roller-coaster levels of blood sugar can affect your vision. If your vision becomes blurry – it may not be cause for immediate alarm. The condition known as diabetic retinopathy, where blood vessels in the back of the eye are destroyed over time – is the more serious effect typically found in type 1 diabetic patients.

This blurring effect you may be experiencing could be a sign of early stages of diabetes. The lens of your eye is not focusing correctly because of a build-up of glucose – which temporarily changes the shape of the eye.

When your blood sugar levels stabilized, 6-8 weeks later your eye will adjust and return to normal.

It’s important to point out that any symptom left alone for long periods of time could potentially make it harder or impossible to reverse.
