10. Vaginal Bleeding

Roughly 25 percent of ovarian cancer patients have documented abnormal vaginal bleeding as one of their symptoms. Because ovarian cancer occurs much more predominantly in older women, this symptom is often overlooked or ignored. This is because, during menopause, vaginal spotting in between menstrual cycles is not uncommon. If irregular bleeding does occur and other symptoms such as skin discoloration, blisters or sores around the vaginal area begin to show, there is a chance you are in the early stages of ovarian cancer.

Women who have not had children or who entered early puberty are more likely to be diagnosed with ovarian cancer. Women with a history of irregular or missed periods are also at higher risk. Many of these symptoms are easy to ignore but should be taken seriously, especially if more than one is noticed.
