Do You Have Lupus? Is Your Immune System Attacking You?
Unexplained Fever
About 80 percent of patients suffering from systemic lupus erythematosus(SLE) will have a low grade, recurring fevers. Generally not exceeding 101 degrees Fahrenheit, this slight temperature increase can be a warning sign that a patient’s lupus is about to flare; a term used to describe an outbreak of more severe and sometimes life-threatening lupus symptoms.
Lupus is known as an imitator of other illnesses and there’s no better example than signs of a mild fever. If you are experiencing low-grade fevers in combination with other lupus-related symptoms, check in with your doctor to make sure you’re taking the right steps to protect your health.
