4. Lymphoma

Night sweats brought on by lymphoma are somewhat of a medical mystery; though no one knows the exact reason for it, there are some compelling ideas as to where this symptom originates. The thought is that when your body is fighting the cancer, it can lead to higher-than-normal temperatures. Sweating is our bodies natural way of cooling itself. The other thought is you lympatic system, under duress, might be creating abnormal proteins and hormones in response to the cancer.

If you’re experiencing night sweats in conjunction with itching, swelling of the ankles or abdomen, enlarged lymph nodes or signs of jaundice, you should see a doctor as soon as possible.
