10 Commonly Misunderstood Symptoms of Bipolar Disorder
Fatigue

Mood swings are maybe one of the most well-known symptoms associated with bipolar disorder. The highs are accompanied by surges of energy and positive metal vibes. The lows, predictably, create feelings of sluggishness and lack of motivation. Another common symptom felt during low points is chronic fatigue. Not quite the same thing as being tired or sleepy, fatigue saps a persons’ motivation. Getting out of bed becomes a chore. Going to work is a nightmare.
Chronic fatigue is strongly linked to depression. Commonly, patients expressing feelings of fatigue do so while exhibiting signs of diminished sleep. Feelings of restlessness and insomnia are also strongly linked to fatigue. The best treatment for this is to establish a sleep routine. Going to bed at the same time every night, avoiding electronics before bed and abstaining from daytime naps will help boost energy levels during the day.
