10 Diseases There Is No Known Cure For: Avoid These Incurable Diseases
6. Celiac Disease
Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder affecting one out of 100 people worldwide. This condition targets the small intestine and makes the patient’s body gluten intolerant. Upon eating glutinous foods such as wheat and other grains, the patient’s immune system releases a number of antibodies which cause irritation of the intestinal tract. Celiac disease usually begins during childhood, with common symptoms ranging from abdominal distention, diarrhea, loss of appetite and failure to grow normally.
The only known treatment is to avoid gluten entirely; allowing the small intestine to rebuild it’s delicate mucous and relieve negative symptoms. If left untreated, this condition can lead to certain types of cancer and in rare cases can shorten the lifespan of the patient.
